fresh water
Eugene is a great place to fill your fresh water tank as well. They get their water from the Mkenzie River- even though this dump station is on the Willamette River (no good)...This is some of the best city water in the country.
Be sure to get your fresh water from with the city limits of Eugene. I believe Springfield still pulls their water from the Willamette upstream of Eugene.
Springfield Water
The City of Springfield pulls their water from wells that are drilled next to the McKenzie River in NW Sprinfield.
Willamette River (no good)
The Willamette River is not very polluted in Eugene compaired to other cities North(down streem) of Eugene due to Rural & Municipal pollutants that are picked up as it flows & the large number of wood processing plants located near the Willamette River between Eugene & Portland.
The Mckenzie River is clean due to the facts that, #1 It dosent run "through" any municipality or near any corperate farming lands & #2 The Mckenzie River is relitivly short from headwaters to conjunction.
