New Jersey Interstate 195

Interstate 195 in New Jersey runs east to west for 36 miles from Trenton to the Garden State Parkway near Asbury Park. Eastbound travelers should read up the chart. Westbound travelers read down the chart.

  Allaire State Park, 732-938-2371, open mid-April through October, $20 per night for camping, $5 entrance fee.

    Comments: Very wooded area. 40-foot coach is about the maximum and is tricky; any larger would be impossible.
   

 

New Jersey Interstate 295

Interstate 295 primarily runs north to south for 68 miles from US 1 in Trenton to the Delaware state line. Northbound travelers should read up the chart. Southbound travelers read down the chart.

Belford, New Jersey

Middletown Sewerage Authority, open Mon-Fri 8am to 4pm, no charge. From Garden State Pkwy Exit 117, follow NJ 36 east about 5 miles past firehouse to second place where a "Main St" crosses the highway (You'll also see the Mariner Diner ahead on left). Use jughandle to cross NJ 36. Take to Center St on right then second left is Beverly into site.

Buena, New Jersey

Buena Vista Campground, 775 Harding Hwy (US 40), 856-697-5555, $20

Freehold, New Jersey

Turkey Swamp County Park south of Freehold, no fee if camping

Pennsville, New Jersey

Interstate 295 northbound just over the Delaware Memorial Bridge on New Jersey side. It is located in the first rest area and is free of charge. Open all year long. Great for return trips from southeast. Easy in and out for any size rig including BIG RIGS.

Wanaque, New Jersey

Wanaque Valley Regional Sewerage Authority, 101 Warren Hagstrom Blvd, 973-831-6658, $2. Open 7am-9pm daily. From I-287 Exit 55, go north on Ringwood Ave about two miles to Warren Hagstrom Blvd (across from reservoir) and turn right. Go about 1/4 mile to first right. Follow the road around condos to Sewerage Authority; dump is straight ahead through the gate at the small building on the left. An attendant should be around, otherwise go to the office in the building to the left.

Woodport, New Jersey

Mahlon Dickerson Reservation (county park). From NJ 15 near Woodport, follow Weldon Road east about four miles to park. Campground is on the left. Free use of the dump station if camping, $10 if not.
